The Hand Behind the Work

Why art? I was once questioned. Art has always been a way of liberation, healing, and coping for me since childhood. My room as a child, with all the wood paneling, resembled a box which I often escaped through my creations. The process of creating art made me feel powerful, capable, and limitless. I knew that art is a main key to my personal and spiritual evolution, thus, I pursued my education in Fine Arts and earned a B.A. degree in Fine Arts and B.F.A in Interior Design from George Washington University.
Art has always been one of my strongest voices to speak with. It is the podium from which I could share the gifts I’ve been blessed with. It is the healing essence for my soul, and the magic wand to spread love and happiness to the world. It is my inner fuel that sparks my energy to contribute to humanity and to be a better me. I create, I invent, I contribute, therefore I am, is my motto in art.
From the inner world of clashing polarities was the birth of my art. My art is the peaceful ground where my extremes meet in harmony. It is like a collision of opposite cosmic forces that bring to life a product of wholeness that embraces both ends of the polarities such as the simple and the complex, the smooth and the textured, and a lot more. Through my art, I play with the juxtapositions and high contrast of these polarities while infusing some core values such as freedom, joy, and richness.
My art style and techniques are a reflection of my inspirations. I’m inspired by the chaos of nature on a macro level and the order of it on a micro level. Additionally, I’m inspired by the layers of complexity of life and its issues, and our abilities to unravel, analyze, and draw systematic approaches to better understand and resolve them. I’m also inspired by the high contrast of dualities in life, the beautiful harmony of wholeness these dualities form when balanced, and the endless possibilities they create. Lastly, my Middle Eastern background has played a huge role in my art as I incorporate Islamic geometry in most of my creations in a modern style.
